Energy sure isn't cheap. And we don't make it any less costly on ourselves, or on the environment, when we use it like it's an unlimited resource. After China, the United States uses the greatest amount of electricity at 4,686,400,000 megawatts by hour per year. That amounts to 1683 watts per person in the US, compared to 447 in China. That's roughly 538% more energy per person than the world average of 313 watts per person. Clearly, Americans are not nearly as energy efficient as we like to think. Yes, some people have taken the necessary steps to lower their individual intake of electricity, but the majority needs to take action in order to make a significant change. It starts at the individual level. And right now, individuals are not energy efficient. My mission is to prove that a little conservation goes a long way and that conservation is a lot easier than we think. There are so many things we can accomplish. More on that later. Check out this wiki page for more electricity usage statistics.
